Job Description

The purpose of this position is to examine and adjudicate specialty product claims as well as coordinate all related claim activity in preparation for claim payment(s). Specialty Products are those products that are typically based on valuations and do not involve mechanical breakdown coverage (e.g., GAP, Theft, Paintless Dent Repair, Key/Fob, Windshield Repair/Replace, etc.). They would act within the guidelines and procedures that have been established for the adjudication of Specialty Product claims. The Claims Adjuster will provide additional support to the Claims Department and other leaders within the department as necessary. The Specialty Product Claims Adjuster will be expected to interact with various Departments such as Commercial Sales, Account Support, MIS, IT Development and others as is appropriate to fulfill job responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

•         Gather pertinent claim information and documentation through interaction with lenders, sellers, customer/borrowers, primary insurance carriers.

•         Identify and manage documents for review.

•         Review documentation for completeness and accuracy.

•  Calculate claims proceeds in accordance with the product coverage to include finance agreements, loan/payment history, vehicle valuations, primary carrier documentation, police reports, vehicle options, etc. in accordance with customer coverage specific to product purchased.

Job Requirements

•         High school diploma or GED equivalent

•         Bilingual (Spanish) a plus

•         1+ years’ experience in insurance claims a plus

•         Previous experience in collections and/or call center environment a plus.

•         Effectively communicate through mail, email, fax and telephone with involved parties.

•         Working knowledge of Excel, Word and Windows environments

•         Self-motivated; result oriented; professional demeanor

•         Detail Orientated

•         Strong organizational skills

•         Ability to multi-task, take direction and work independently

•         Ability to work in and adapt to various computer systems/applications

•         Problem solving skills

•         Works well in a “Team” environment.

•         Department Hours: M-F; 7 a.m.-7 p.m. central; Job Role Hours: 40 hrs/week (8 hrs/day)
