Job Description

Amynta is seeking a Director of Tax to (1) design and stand up a new corporate tax function in the near term and then (2) to manage that function and set tax strategy over the long term.


 


Responsibilities


  • Day 1 to Day 30: Your primary objective will be to select, in consultation with Amynta’s CFO, the best long-term organizational design for operating the tax function at Amynta. 

  • Day 31 to Day 90: Your primary objectives will be to (1) begin standing up the tax organization, including hiring necessary team members and/or selecting outside advisors as required; (2) conduct a review of tax compliance and tax policies at Amynta; and (3) provide input into Amynta’s financial and operating systems to improve the quality and efficiency of tax reporting.

  • Day 90 and onward, you will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the tax function and staff at Amynta

  • Setting the vision and direction for the tax department (consistent with broader organization directives)

  • Leading tax research, planning, and special projects

  • Leading the tax provision process and ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards and controls

  • Communicating with business units and remaining fully integrated into Amynta’s operations

  • Communicating and resolving tax matters with the support of the CFO and senior Amynta leadership

  • Ensuring the tax department is adding value to the organization and integrated into its operations

  • Delivering key workplan activities related to: Transactional, Accounting for Income Taxes, Uncertain Tax Positions and Tax Department Operations

Job Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in public accounting, or related experience as a tax manager or tax director

  • Diversified corporate tax experience spanning financial reporting, income tax compliance, indirect tax

  • CPA

  • B.S./B.A. in Accounting or Tax-related field

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

  • Experience managing a team and/or third-party advisor relationships

  • Experience in the warranty, insurance, or a related industry is preferred
